WASHINGTON—Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) today announced that two of her bills reported favorably out of the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade. The bills are as follows:

“These basic actions to improve features on Meta’s platforms are long overdue, and this settlement meaningfully holds Meta accountable for its exploitation of millions of children across the country. 

One company and one settlement is not enough. This settlement is not a substitute for bold and sweeping congressional action.

SALEM, Ind.— Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) announced that her office has returned more than $10 million to constituents across Indiana’s Ninth District since taking office in 2023.

Washington, D.C. —Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN) joined Representative Lucy McBath (D-GA) to introduce the bipartisan, bicameral READ Act, legislation to address America’s literacy crisis using evidence-based reading instruction known as the Science of Reading.

 

Houchin introduced the legislation alongside Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Rep. Kevin Kiley (I-CA), Rep. Josh Harder (D-CA), and Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT).

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN-09) recently introduced the bipartisan 988 Lifeline Location Improvement Act alongside Congressman Joe Neguse (D-CO-02), Congressman Tom Kean Jr. (R-NJ-07), and Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL-08). The legislation would improve geolocation capabilities and increase the effectiveness of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN-09) and Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (D-WA-08) recently introduced the bipartisan Rural Hospital Cybersecurity Enhancement Act, alongside cosponsors Representatives Jefferson Shreve (R-IN), Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-PA), Jill Tokuda (D-HI), and Jennifer McClellan (D-VA). Companion legislation was introduced in the Senate by Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and Mark Kelly (D-AZ).
