WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) announced that her office has returned more than $1 million to constituents across Indiana’s Ninth District in 2026 alone, bringing the total to $1,111,111.41 so far this year. Since taking office in 2023, Houchin’s office has secured a total of $7,648,744.16 for constituents through casework assistance.

“Today is a good day in the overdue effort to hold social media corporations accountable. Meta and YouTube tried to deny, deflect, and delay – but a jury heard the evidence and found them negligent in how they designed their apps for children.

However, Congress must be clear-eyed about the limits of litigation. Going forward, the platforms will change their terms of service language and continue to hide their exploitation of children behind bad-faith Section 230 defenses.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) introduced H.R. 8009, the Student Protection and Success Act, legislation aimed at increasing accountability for institutions of higher education, improving student loan repayment outcomes, and ensuring colleges deliver real value for students and taxpayers.

Houchin introduced the legislation alongside Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03). A companion bill is being led in the Senate by Senators Todd Young (R-IN) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).

Included in the legislation are two bills authored by Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09): the AI Warnings and Resources for Education (AWARE) Act and the Safeguarding Adolescents From Exploitative BOTs (SAFEBOTs) Act.

SALEM, IN — U.S. Representative Erin Houchin (IN-09) is seeking a veteran to serve in her Salem district office through the U.S. House of Representatives Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program. This is a paid, full-time position.

The selected aide will work directly with military and veteran constituents, assist with veterans-related casework, and serve as a liaison between constituents and federal, state, and local agencies to help ensure they receive the benefits and services they have earned.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the SAVE America Act by a vote of 218–213. The legislation strengthens election integrity by requiring proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and a valid photo ID to cast a ballot. Representative Erin Houchin (IN-9) is a cosponsor of the bill.
